mushroom

What: Wild mushroom in Kodagu
Where: Karnataka, India
When: May, 2012

Traveller’s tale: With the onset of the rains there is a profusion of fungii in the wilderness in Kodagu. This was unusual, one that I hadn’t seen before. The vivid colour and the lace-like structure was striking. Another of nature’s wonders. A little research online and the closest I got was the Longnet Stinkhorn, though it has white coloured lace around it.

delhi hauz khas ruins

What: Ruins within the Hauz Khas complex
Where: Delhi, India
When: December 2015

Camera: Moto X (phone)

Traveller’s tale: One of those hazy days when Delhi’s pollution levels were rivalling Beijing’s. The Hauz Khas complex was built and developed by two different rulers of Delhi (14th century onwards). There are tombs, meeting places, mosques and madrassas within the complex. Heritage walks are a good way to explore the place. Today, it’s an oasis in the midst of the concrete jungle and you can see greenery all around (including the waters of the tank). It was a pleasant spot but as the day progressed, the chattering youngsters who throng the place drove me out of there. More Info.
